Portfolio Demo · This website was created as a fictional demonstration of web design capabilities. Whitmore Black LLP is a fictional law firm created solely as a portfolio demonstration project. It does not provide legal services or advice, and all people, reviews, case studies, contact details and services shown are entirely fictional.

About the Firm

A practice built around the client, not the file

Whitmore Black LLP is a fictional firm of solicitors invented for this portfolio demonstration. Its story below is written to illustrate how a modern, client-focused practice might present itself.

Our Story

Founded on a single frustration

Eleanor Whitmore and Marcus Black are described as having met at a large city practice where good lawyers were doing good work that clients could not follow.

In the firm's fictional history, they left in 2009 to build something smaller and more deliberate: a practice where the person you meet is the person who does the work, where fees are agreed before anything begins, and where every letter is written to be understood by the person receiving it.

Seventeen imagined years later, the practice is described as spanning three departments — personal law, business law and dispute resolution — with six solicitors and associates working from a single office at 25 Example Square.

None of this is real. Whitmore Black LLP has no clients, no cases and no premises. Everything on this website exists to demonstrate design, structure and content craft for professional services.

What We Stand For

Five principles the fictional firm is built on

01

Experienced solicitors

The fictional partnership is described as bringing more than forty years of combined practice across corporate, family, property and contested work, with every matter led by a senior lawyer rather than delegated on arrival.

02

A client-first approach

Client care is treated as a discipline, not a slogan: agreed response times, a named contact, and a written summary after every substantive conversation.

03

Clear communication

Advice is written in plain English. Where a question is commercial rather than legal, the firm is described as saying so plainly instead of billing for certainty it cannot provide.

04

Professional integrity

The fictional firm turns down work it cannot do well, declines to escalate matters that should settle, and tells clients when the cost of being right exceeds the value of the outcome.

05

Strategic legal advice

Every matter opens with a written strategy: the outcome sought, the realistic routes to it, the cost of each and the point at which the approach should be reconsidered.
